4 Cheap Places to Go in New York

This time I want to share information for those who are planning to travel to New York or who are currently dreaming of being able to travel to the United States, especially to New York.

Here I want to share 9 tourist attractions in New York that are economical. Why economical? Because you don't need to pay for the entrance ticket to the location. But to get there you still need to pay for transportation tickets, you know. Hehehe.

For other paid places to travel, such as Ellis Island & Liberty Island, Madame Tussauds, and the Museum of Modern Arts New York, I will write in a separate article.

1.Washington Square Park

The location of this park is in the Greenwich Village area, Lower Manhattan, New York City. Easy to reach by public transportation. This park is also not far from the New York University campus.

In this park, there are two buildings that are its distinctive features. The first is a building called the Washington Centenary Arch. The model is similar to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, but it is equipped with two statues of George Washington on the right and left. The one on the left is the statue of George Washington during the war and the one on the right is during peace. In front of this Arch, visitors usually take pictures.

In the middle of Washington Square Park, there is a fairly large fountain. In addition to visitors taking pictures in front of this fountain, don't be surprised if there are many small children in swimsuits (or some without clothes. Oops!) playing in the water in this fountain.

The park has a very relaxed atmosphere and many people consisting of NYU students, tourists, musicians busking, parents babysitting, people just sitting around, or even people walking their pets enjoying their time here.

This summer, the park is always crowded, not only on weekends. In the past week I hung out here almost every morning and did not get bored at all because every day there was something to observe. I wrote my notes From a Washington Square Park Bench in my previous post.

2. Greenwich Village

The Greenwich Village area is an area that is visited by many tourists. In addition to the famous Washington Square Park that appears in many movie scenes, the location of Greenwich Village is also shady even in summer, there are many instagrammable spots, and there are many cafes and restaurants, including those that provide halal food.

In addition, this area is quite legendary because in this area several famous musicians such as Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, and Joan Baez have had their careers.

3. Times Square

A trip to New York is not complete without going to Times Square! Here there are many shops on the right and left of the road and installing videotrons. Well, those videotrons are one of the attractions for visitors to take pictures.

Here you can take pictures to your heart's content without spending a single dollar. But... if you go into a store and buy something, or watch a Broadway Show, that's a different story. Hehehehe

Yesterday, I went into two stores in the Times Square area. The first was the Disney Store. That store sells all kinds of Disney merchandise. I just looked around, and I was happy with that. Hehehe

4.Battery Park

This park is located facing New York Harbor. If you want to visit Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty from New York, take the boat from this park.

Because it is located on the edge of the sea, it feels hotter and windier than parks like Washington Square Park.

Even so, it does not reduce the fun of people doing activities there. From those who are just sitting around, musicians or other artists who are looking for a living, or children playing in the fountain. It's suitable for one of the budget travel destinations in New York.
